This is me – Bouchemat Mohamed Elyazid (Yazid)

I started cutting briar since 1994 and really i enjoy it.

I learning more about the process (from harvesting to curing) from my father ‘‘Ahmed’’,

who had been working with french briar sawmills of « Monsieur Blanc » until 1960 and after with Algerian briar sawmills. 

As many of the large pipe factories shutting their doors, all of the Algerian briar sawmills that supplied those factories change theire activity to the growing cork industry. 

The enjoyment I got from cutting a briar in the beginning led me to create my small briar sawmill in 2001 and became the sole supplier of the finest Algerian briar, and my goal is to focus on quality briar.
